This used to be hard for me, because I didn’t understand the depth of it and my teachings on who God was and what love was were scattered.
God/love weren’t one to me in the past and that made it hard for me to trust God and to trust other people when they would say they loved me.
We base our assumptions of love on both of those things.
We compare God to humanness, and think his love is like what we know from our human parents, family, lovers because we don’t know anything else, and we compare humans to what we know of God because we are taught we are made in the image of God.
So….. my image of God was someone who claimed to be love but was also judge mental and stern.
He is love but angry and Jealous.
He is love BUT.
How can you trust that or BE that?
So hearing trust God to me was not easy.
Trusting God didn’t make sense.
Until my awareness of what/who God is changed.
People wI’ll argue when you tell them God is love.
We have been brainwashed into something else and believe that is the only teaching.
People would rather argue that God is judgemental and built a hell for his children then believe God really IS love and love doesn’t think like that or do things like that.
How can you trust someone to take care of your every need if they would let you go to a burning pit in the ground?
Or they would cause sickness on your body to teach you a lesson?
You can’t.
You can’t trust that.
For me, it was a very slow, very cautious tip toe out of religion and opening my mind to other teachings and connecting with LOVE in quiet meditation and writing and asking God questions.
People throw Bible verses at me like I didn’t spend 40 years of my life in church.
Everything they say to me, I used to say.
So how do you BE love and trust LOVE?
You have to know what God is and what God thinks of you.
That you are part of God.
Yes made in Gods image but not the jealous, egoic, God that humans created.
We can’t put God in our human mind box.
God is more than you can imagine. God is the energy you call imagination. God is creator and creation. God is first thought. And God is last experience and everything in between.
God is the highest vibration.
Could you trust and have more peace if you knew a different God?
If you knew you were loved beyond measure no matter what choices you made?
If you knew you were born perfect?
If you knew that You were loved SO much, more than any human parent could possibly love you?
If you knew you were born as an extension of that love and light, and your always a part of it?
That you can lean in on that source of love and also create with it?
That makes it much easier.
We humans have made up a God in our image, we gave God our human characteristics.
But God remains who he always was, unconditional LOVE.
We forgot who he was.
And then forgot who WE were.
